"Teej Week Festival" begins in Bandipur

KATHMANDU, Sep 03:"Teej Week Festival" began in tourist and cultural village Bandipur.

Rajesh Hamal, the hero of the Nepali film industry, inaugurated the "Teej Week Festival" which started from Bhadra 15 in Bandipur.

The program is organized in Khadgadevi temple premises. The main attraction of the week festival is the open Teej song competition with the biggest prize money of Nepal, cultural concert, cultural tableau exhibition and presentation of local art culture.

Program coordinator Kiran Pokhrel said that the cable car jatra was started at Kewalkarchowk on the morning of 15th with special worship of Lord Shiva and after reaching Khadgadevi temple, it was formally inaugurated.

The organizers have claimed that the program has been prepared to introduce Bandipur in a cheerful manner. Organized for the first time by all the associations of Bandipur, this program has been sponsored by Bandipur Rural Municipality itself.

The main management of the program is done by Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism Ltd. The award was sponsored by Chandra Nirman Seva Pvt. Ltd., Design Station Pvt. Ltd., Cage Consultants Pvt. Ltd., Vij Bazar Ltd. and all the associations and local residents of Bandipur have announced financial support.

On this occasion, arrangements have been made for the participants to board the Bandipur cable car for Rs 350 for a double ride. Also, the cable car company has announced Rs 25 per ticket to support the program.

The organizers said that there will be a cultural program and Maha aarti every evening. The program will continue until the 22nd.
