Tourism Minister Pandey inspects the Gautam Buddha International Airport
KATHMANDU, Sep 03:Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, stated that the Gautam Buddha International Airport was built with Buddha's birthplace Lumbini in its center.
He stated that the ministry is taking steps to establish frequent flights at the airport because it would be the primary means of transporting overseas passengers.
Minister Pandey informed the media that the government has created an action plan for the airport's operation and has taken steps after inspecting the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa on Friday.
We have decided to start immigration, labor, and other essential services from Bhairahawa. Minister Pandey stated that the government is pursuing proposals for regular flights at the airport, which is built with Lumbini, Buddha's birthplace, at its center.
Minister Pandey, who visited the Gautam Buddha International Airport for the first time after becoming a minister, inspected the airport and discussed the government's recent decisions and implementation of international airport flights.
Speaking to the media following the inspection, Minister Pandey stated that the government has implemented an enthusiastic action plan for the operation of the Bhairahawa and Pokhara airports.
He stated that the government is attempting to entice airlines by offering discounts on service charges for airport operations.
The Secretary of the Ministry, Ganesh Prasad Pandey, stated that the environment is being prepared for the operation of Gautam Buddha Airport and urged that it be beautified to give the impression that it is the birthplace of Buddha.
Pratap Babu Tiwari, General Manager of Gautam Buddha International Airport, stated that all preparations for foreign flights have been completed.
The team, which included Minister Pandey, inspected the terminal building, tower, parking, and runway.
