Three NAC engineers suspended for neglecting to maintain aircraft

KATHMANDU, Sep 03:Three Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) engineers are suspended for neglecting to maintain narrowbody aircraft.

Three NAC engineers have been placed on suspension for their poor performance in maintaining narrow-body aircraft.

Three NAC engineers have been suspended by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for neglecting to maintain the aircraft and for utilizing spare components against the advice of the manufacturer.

The CAAN's information officer, Gyanendra Bhul, reports that all three engineers have been placed on suspended until further notice.

He states that the NAC was inspected by the CAAN on Tuesday of last week following allegations regarding severe flaws in narrow-body aircraft maintenance.

He stated that during fixing the plane, it was discovered that parts from a different manufacturer had been utilized.

The aircraft was grounded on Wednesday.

On Thursday, it was repaired and a 'handling flight' was performed in the direction of CAAN engineers. With the success of that flight, narrowbodies are now being flown regularly.
