'Discussions with International Air Service Operators to operate Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports
KATHMANDU, Aug 30:Badri Pandey, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has stated that once the Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports are operating, millions of tourists can be brought in. Minister Pandey stated this at a discussion with international air service operators on Tuesday.
"Despite this crisis, the government is trying to operate Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports by bringing in various packages," Pandey stated. "Understanding the complexity of the country, he insisted on supporting the decision taken by the government."
Minister Pandey stated that the government is prepared to continue discussions on policy, commercial, and security issues regarding the functioning of the two airports. He identified Pokhara as a tourist capital and stated that allowing tourists from China, India, and other nations to visit Pokhara and Bhairahawa may generate lakhs of rupees for the state.
What would happen to the package proposed by the government after two years? He informed international airlines that they did not need to worry about it. Minister Pandey further stated that the government has communicated diplomatically with China and India on the route. More than a dozen air service firms, including Jazeera Airways and Singapore Airlines, participated in the conversation.
