Air service resumed at Resunga Airport
KATHMANDU, Aug 24:Regular flights have resumed from Gulmi's Resunga Airport after almost two months. The flight was stopped from the second week of Asar due to the bad weather.
Suman Thapa, station chief of NAC Resunga Airport, stated that Nepal Airlines flights resumed on Friday due to improved weather conditions. On Friday morning, 12 passengers boarded an plane from Kathmandu and arrived at Resunga Airport.
According to Thapa, the head of Resunga Airport will fly one day a week on Friday, depending on the weather conditions. The airport, which has permission to fly three times each week, has been unable to fly since Asar 14 owing to inclement weather.
Flights to Resunga Airport depart Kathmandu at 6:30 a.m. and return to Kathmandu at 7:45 a.m.
Employees at the airport office report that there is an issue owing to cloud cover at the airport during the morning flight due to rain.
Nepal Airlines' TwinOtter plane have been operating to Resunga. The current ticket from Gulmi to Kathmandu is Rs 7,800, whereas Kathmandu to Gulmi is Rs 7,280.
Resunga Airport is located in Simichour, Ward 10 of Resunga Municipality.
Commercial flights to Resunga began last year.
