Govt will provide a $100 per-kiloliter discount on air fuel for regular international flights from PRIA and GBIA
KATHMANDU, Aug 22:The government has decided to provide a special discount on aviation fuel to planes flying internationally from Pokhara International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport.
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) board of directors met and resolved to offer a $100 per kilometer reduction on the stated price to airlines companies flying to foreign nations from Pokhara International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport.
According to Madhusudan Burlakoti, Secretary of Commerce and Supply of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supply and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NOC, concessions will be provided for the operation of these two airports located outside of Kathmandu in accordance with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's directives.
"This is expected to help increase international flights from Pokhara and Gautam Buddha airports," according to Burlakoti. "International air service companies will be able to take advantage of the discount on air fuel immediately."
According to corporation sources, the price of international aviation fuel in Pokhara and Bhairahawa will decrease to 942 dollars per kiloliter after this decision. The fare for flights from Tribhuvan Airport remains the same as before.
The government has lately announced various kinds of rebates and discounts for international flights departing from Pokhara and Gautam Buddha airports. The Council of Ministers has also approved an action plan to address this.
