Buddha Air plane en route to Kathmandu diverted to Bhairahawa due to bad weather
KATHMANDU, Aug 21:Buddha Air aircraft en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu was diverted to Bhairahawa due to poor weather conditions.
The Pokhara airport reported that the plane carrying 72 passengers from Pokhara to Kathmandu in the morning was unable to land owing to inclement weather and was diverted to Bhairahawa.
The aircraft, which was supposed to depart at 7:25 a.m., left Kathmandu at 9:30 a.m. However, when the weather in Kathmandu was bad, Bhairahawa hovered in the sky for about 20 minutes before landing.
Dipendra Karna, the Information Officer of Buddha Air, informed that although Buddha's flight number 664, ATR 72, flew to Kathmandu, it landed at Bhairahawa.
According to the airport, the weather in Kathmandu appeared to be fine when the flight left Pokhara.
Two Buddha Air aircrafts departed from Pokhara's airport in the morning for Kathmandu. While the other one headed to Bhairahawa since it was unable to land due to poor visibility, one of them has successfully landed.
