Nepal Telecom extended 4G service to Manaslu area in Gorkha
KATHMANDU, Aug 21:Nepal Telecom has expanded mobile service coverage to various locations in Gorkha's remote northern region. Telecom has expanded mobile coverage to the Tibet border, Mountain Manaslu region, Manaslu trekking route, Manaslu Conservation Area, Larkepass, Manang trekking route, and other locations inside Chumnubri Rural Municipality.
The company has increased its voice and data services in response to client demand in the tourist-heavy area. In addition, capacity and quality improvements have been made in some areas.
The company has upgraded 2G service to 4G in Jagat, Salleri, Namrung, Syo, Samagaou, Lho, Prok, Bihi, and Sirdibas in Chumanubri Rural Municipality, as well as Samdo, the final village of Ruila Naka on the Chinese border.
According to Telecom, local citizens, tourists, and other business owners can benefit from operating the service in geographically very difficult areas. According to Telecom, this will make it easier to get in touch with tourists and coordinate rescue efforts in an emergency.
