Flag hoisting in Kathmandu on occasion of Indonesia's 79th Independence Day
KATHMANDU:The flag-hoisting ceremony in Kathmandu completed on Saturday in celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's 79th Independence Day. The ceremony was place at the Pani Pokhari, the office of Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia, located at the IME complex premises.
On the eve of Indonesia's 79th Independence Day, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Nepal as well the Chairman of IME Group, stated that peaceful relations exist between the two countries and he aims to convey this to the populace in the days ahead.
He stressed that there is a lot of potential for the people and governments of both nations benefiting from mutual trade and experience exchange, therefore this connection should be strengthened in the future.
Nepal and the Republic of Indonesia established formal diplomatic ties in 1960. The Indonesian Ambassador to Nepal has a residential office in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital.
