Global IME Bank's new CEO Surendra Raj Regmi assumes office

KATHMANDU:Surendra Raj Regmi, Global IME Bank's newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), assumed office on Sunday.

Before taking office, CEO Regmi received the oath of office and secrecy from Chandra Prasad Dhakal, chairman of the bank's board of directors.

Regmi, the newly hired CEO, has more than 35 years of banking experience.

Regmi, who began his banking career at National Commercial Bank, joined Global IME Bank as a Deputy Manager in Baisakha 2065.

Regmi is an experienced banker who has held supervisory positions at Global IME Bank in credit management, risk and control, banking operations, risk management, compliance, branch operations, general administration, and mergers.

The newly appointed Regmi has a master's degree in economics from Tribhuvan University and an MBA from the University of Wales, UK.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Global IME Bank Chairman Dhakal expressed confidence that the bank will become even stronger under Regmi's leadership, who has extensive experience in the banking sector.

He stated that under the supervision of new CEO Regmi, the bank's services will be made more quick and convenient, and regular clients will be able to conduct safe banking transactions.

Regmi stated that taking over as CEO of the country's largest and most prestigious bank filled him with pride and a sense of the responsibility.

During his tenure, he expressed his commitment to expanding the bank's balanced business, providing more robust customer service and facilities, providing banking services using new and secure technology, and strengthening the bank's respectable market presence while also providing a reasonable return to investors.

He said that he will try to increase the brand, network, and strong market share of Global IME Bank.
