Tourism Minister Pandey complained to the former minister of South Korea about expensive air fare between Nepal and Korea
KATHMANDU, Aug 17:Badri Prasad Pandey, the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, met with Yujin Rong, the former Tourism Minister of South Korea.
On Monday, a team led by former Minister Ronong met with the Minister of Tourism while visiting Nepal.
On the occasion of the meeting, Minister Pandey remembered that Nepal-Korea relations had completed their 50th anniversary and expressed hope that they will strengthen further.
Minister Pandey remembered Nepal and Korea's cultural agreement from 2005, stating that the two countries will collaborate in the domains of culture, education, youth sports, and tourism.
Minister Pandey mentioned that there is a common concern that tickets between Nepal and Korea are quite pricey.
He stated, "Over 50,000 Nepalis live in Korea."They complain that the plane fare is too expensive for getting them back and forth. Let the Korean government's attention be called to this issue.
Yoo Jin, the former minister of Korea, stated that 30,000 Korean tourists visit Nepal each year and commended the strong connections between the two nations. He also stated that they will work with the Korean government to cut airfares.
He also invited Minister Pandey to visit Korea in 2025. He also expressed hope that the visit would bring more Korean visitors to Nepal. Minister Pandey has stated that he will prioritize visiting Korea.
