Nepali airlines are sensitive to air safety: AOAN

KATHMANDU, Aug 01:The Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) has requested that no comments be made on the regulator's participation in mishaps and accidents caused by out-of-control circumstances, citing the fact that airline companies are extremely sensitive about aviation safety.

Last Wednesday, after a Saurya Airlines flight crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport on its way to Pokhara, questions were raised concerning the airline companies, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), and other regulating organizations.

The has called attention to the critical comments, claiming that such incidents are outside the jurisdiction of the regulating agency. The AOAN and CAAN have always been committed to air safety, according to the AOAN.

According to the AOAN, member airlines companies follow to the appropriate suggestions made by the CAAN's technical team for air safety, as well as whether the orders received from the regulatory body CAAN are completely followed by the relevant agencies Monitoring from time to time.
