Miss Malta visits Nepal and gets a warm welcome in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, July 30:Miss Malta, Cherise Spiteri, has journeyed to Kathmandu to visit Nepal. She arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday morning aboard a Turkish Airlines flight.

She was welcomed by a group of tourism-related organizations, including the Nepal Tourism Board.

Prakash Bhandari, Tourism Promoter of Nepal for Malta, stated that Miss Malta's visit will play an essential role in promoting tourism in Nepal.

In addition to Miss Malta, the team includes Kestern Borg, Daniel Zammit, Alexia Katzer, and Carolina Ciubotaru.

Miss Malta's team plans to conduct social work in Nepal in collaboration with several non-governmental organizations. They will also take part in the Miss Nepal grand finale.

Som Sapkota, Tourism Promoter and Vice President of the Malta-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Friends Association, stated that the Miss Malta team intends to visit various tourist destinations, including Chitwan, as well as documentary  about Nepal.

Currently, only a small number of tourists enter Nepal from Malta. Stakeholders believe that with proper publicity, tourists may enter Nepal from Malta as well. The team is scheduled to return home on August 6 after completing their visit of Nepal.
