Surendra Raj Regmi appointed as CEO of Global IME Bank

KATHMANDU:Surendra Raj Regmi has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global IME Bank.

The bank's board of directors met on Thursday and resolved to name Regmi, the senior deputy chief executive officer, as CEO. Regmi will take over as CEO beginning August 17.

Three years ago, the bank appointed Regmi as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. He had previously spent 13 years working in several areas at Bank.

Regmi began his career with Rastriya Banijya Bank. He worked in a various of departments under the Regional Office, Pokhara Branch Manager.

He subsequently went to the University of Wales in the United Kingdom on a scholarship to get his MBA. After that, he returned to work in the central office.

Regmi joined Global IME in the position of Deputy Manager. He also worked in the Rastriya Banijya Bank from 17 August , 1988.

Ratnaraj Bajracharya, the bank's chief executive officer, will retire at the end of August 17.
