Saurya plane crash: Postmortem begins at Teaching Hospital

KATHMANDU, July 24:The post-mortem for the 18 individuals who died in the Saurya Airlines plane crashed begin on Wednesday.

The body was taken from the Tribhuvan International Airport to Maharajganj's TU Teaching Hospital.

On Wednesday at 11:11 a.m., Saurya Airlines' 9N-AME/CRJ 200 call sign flew towards Pokhara.

The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Tribhuvan International Airport. There were 19 individuals on board, including the crew. Aside from Captain Manish Shakya, several others have died.

The bodies of those who died in the plane rash have been taken to the University Teaching Hospital. Dr. Gopal Chaudhary, a forensic expert from the University Teaching Hospital's Department of Forensic Medicine, notified that the post-mortem examination take place started.

According to him, it takes at least 4 hours to autopsy a deceased corpse. Along with Kathmandu, post-mortem doctors from Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Dhulikhel hospitals have been summoned to Maharajganj.

A team of 25 persons is preparing to do the post-mortem. "The family of the deceased recives to know the body only after 72 hours of the post-mortem," he told me.According to him, it takes at least 4 hours to autopsy a deceased corpse. Along with Kathmandu, post-mortem physicians from Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Dhulikhel hospitals have been summoned to Maharajganj.
