Prime Minister obtained information about the Saurya Airlines crash
KATHMANDU, July 24:KP Sharma Oli, the prime minister, has taken information about the crash of the Saurya Airlines plane.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited the plane crash site and then went to the rescue coordination center at Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday to gather information from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
The Prime Minister expressed deep sadness, described the incident as heartbreaking, and stated that it was unimaginable.
Prime Minister Oli has directed the relevant agencies and parties to ensure that similar incidents are prevented in the future, emphasizing that the government will take appropriate action.
What was the reason for it? Was the mistake made by person or was it a malfunction in the technology? He asked to understand that.
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Tourism Minister Badri Pandey, Acting Cheif Secretary Leela Gadtaula, along with other officials, were present at the briefing.
At 11:11 a.m. on Wednesday, the aircraft of Saurya Airlines departed from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport and crashed soon after taking off.
Saurya's aircraft, 9N-AME/CRJ 200, flew from Kathmandu to Pokhara. However, aircraft crashed shortly after take-off.
The aircraft that was taking off from Runway 02 crashed close to Runway 20 in an easterly direction, according to the CAAN.
The aircraft carried 19 passengers in addition to the crew. The CAAN reports that 18 persons lost their lives as a result of incident. There is one foreigner and seventeen Nepalese.
There were family members on board as well, but the majority were Saurya Airlines personnel.
Captain Manish Shakya was hurt in the collision and was brought to the KMC hospital to receive medical attention.
