First Monday of Shrawan: Flock of devotees at Pashupatinath Temple (Photo Feature))
Today is the first Monday of Shrawan. Devotees flocked to temples around the country, including Kathmandu's Pashupatinath temple. A swarm of pilgrims can be observed at Pashupatinath in Kathmandu beginning early in the morning.
All four doors were opened for the pilgrims who arrived to worship on Monday morning at 3.30 am. According to the Pashupati Area Development Trust, security for pilgrims, mobilization of volunteers, management of pilgrimage, health camp, drinking water, etc.
This is the month of Shrawan, and Monday is Lord Shiva's month and day, so there is a large gathering of believers. A significant number of Bolbam pilgrims wear saffron clothing. These pilgrims walk from Sundarijal in Kathmandu, carrying pure water to offer to Pashupati.
Devotees are busy worshiping Lord Mahadev at temples like as Pashupatinath, Gokarneshwor, Santaneshwor, Doleshwor, Kirateshwar, Bhaleshwar, Sanga in Kavrepalanchok, Halesi in Khotang, Kumbheshwar, Devghat in Tanahun, and Galeshwor in Myagdi, among others.
