30,000 tourists visited Myagdi in one year
KATHMANDU, July 22:During the last year, 30,000 tourists have visited Myagdi. According to the Myagdi District Police Office, 24,130 people from Myagdi and 5,789 people from outside visited Myagdi last year.
The local police offices in Ghodepani and Darwang maintain detailed statistics of tourists entering and leaving the district.
In the year 2079/80, 29,328 and 7,926 foreign tourists visited in 2078/79. Among the tourists who come to Myagdi, the choice of more than 90 percent of tourists are from Ghodepani, Poonhill area in Annapurna Rural Municipality-6.
Tourists come to Myagdi to visit religious, natural, and historical places including Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain climbing, natural hot springs, Khopara, Annapurna Dhaulagiri , Dhaulagiri Century, Dhaulagiri circuit , Dhaulagiri Icefall, Todke, Rupse Waterfall, Andhagalchi, Galeshwor, Benibazar.
Meena Pun, chairman of the hotel management sub-committee of Ghodepani, a tourist destination where many tourists come from the US, France, Italy, Germany, Korea, China, India, Portugal, Australia, and the Netherlands, said Meena Pun.
Police Inspector of District Police Office Rajan Rayamazhi said that the highest number of tourists came in March 2080 at 5,849.
947 people in shrawan 2080 BS, 972 in Bhadra, 4298 in Ashoj, 4357 in Kartik, 3199 in Mangsir, 1627 in Poush, 1577 people in Magh, 2444 in Falgun, 4175 in Baishakha 2081 BS, 86 in Jesth and 388 in Asar.
50,000 in 2076/77, 75,191 in 2075/76, 74,733 in 2074/75, 69,037 foreign tourists visited Myagdi in 2073/74. In the year 2072/73, the number of tourists visiting Myagdi was 43,632 and zero in 2077/78.
