Ambica Shrestha, Chair of Dwarika's Hotel & Resort, passes away at 92
KATHMANDU, July 18:Ambica Shrestha, the Chair of Dwarika's Hotel & Resort in Battisputali, Kathmandu, has passed away.
She died on Thursday at Medicity Hospital in Lalitpur at the age of 92 while during treatment.
Shrestha had pneumonia and had been treated for two months. According to the family, the cremation will take place in Pashupati Aryaghat on Friday morning.
Shrestha, who has been in the hotel and tourism industry for 65 years, has been totally in charge of Dwarika's operations since 1991. Shrestha overcame cancer four years ago. He has two daughters. Her husband and son had passed away.
Shrestha has extensive expertise as a leader in several tourism-related associations and organizations. Shrestha operated hotels in Kathmandu and Dhulikhel under the name Dwarika's. She also operated travel agencies.
Ambica Shrestha founded the Nepal Heritage Society. . She was the founder president of the Federation of Business and Professional Women Nepal. She also served as President of the Nepal Heritage Society. She was the Honorary Consul General of Spain in Nepal.////////////////
