Nabil Bank's "Four Decades of Nepal" photo exhibition

KATHMANDU:Nabil Bank has created a photo exhibition in honor of its 40th anniversary. The exhibition 'Four Decades of Nepal' opened at the central office in Durbarmarg. The exhibition attempts to demonstrate changes in lifestyle, economy, communication, transportation, and currency during the last four decades. The show, which began on Friday in collaboration with Gorkhapatra Corporation and Nabil Bank, will run for one week.

Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank, stated that the photo exhibition attempted to closely explain the economic changes that occurred alongside the political developments in the country.

"The exhibition is also an opportunity to understand the history, it is also an opportunity to know the pace of development of the country in the last four decades," according to him. However, the country stated that there is substantial evidence that development work is taking place.

Lal Bahadur Airi, General Manager of Gorkhapatra Corporation, stated that, despite the fact that nothing has lately been developed in the country, Gorkhapatra Corporation has entered into a business collaboration with Nabil Bank to demonstrate development through a picture exhibition.

The exhibition includes almost 60 photos. The show includes historical photos of the Bikram Tempo and Trolley Bus, Kathmandu's dependable mode of transportation for 50 years, as well as images of houses being razed in Maitighar prior to the creation of the Mandala. There are also photos of people queuing for kerosene when India enforced a blockade in 2004, as well as photos of diesel being transported by plane from Bangladesh following the blockade. At the time, India imposed a blockade from 2045 Chaitra 10 to 2047 Ashoj 17.

Similarly, the exhibition includes a historic photo of the first passenger landing in the Boeing 757 named Gandaki purchased by Nepal Airlines Corporation in 2043, a photograph of farmers gathered in Bhadrakali demanding chemical fertilizers in 2052, and a tradition of washing clothes and bathing in Maruhiti. The exhibition depicts Nabil Bank's history from the early days of the fax machine and printing machine, the ancient Nabil Bank office building, and the clients who used its services.
