Shey-Phoksundo National Park provided 25.6 million compensation
DOLPA, July 17:In fiscal year 2080/81, the Shey-Foksundo National Park Office in Dolpa, Suligad, paid relief for damage caused by the park's wild animals to local inhabitants' livestock. The park has offered Rs 25.6 million in relief to locals who have been damaged by wild animals as part of livestock insurance.
Bishwo babu Shrestha, senior conservation officer on behalf of the park, stated that the funds were distributed as relief to residents of Dho in Dolpobuddha rural municipality, Phoksundo in Shey-Phoksundo rural municipality, and Rasigaon in Tripurasundari municipality after assessing the damage caused by the park's wild animals. He stated that money has been distributed as relief under livestock insurance to victims living in the park the area who have been affected by wild animal damage to livestock.
According to conservation officer Shrestha, the insurance money was provided to citizens who were injured by wild animals in the middle of the fiscal year through the working regions of several intermediate consumer committees.
Every year, Dolpa earns roughly Rs 300 million from herbs. Protection officer Shrestha informed that the funds coming into the district for insurance and development construction have been made available to the victims.
