Hotel Hilton Kathmandu's soft opening begins Sunday

KATHMANDU, July 15:Hotel Hilton Kathmandu, situated in Naxal, Kathmandu, has been completed. 

Hotel bookings will begin on July 19. The hotel has had a'soft opening' since Sunday.

The hotel, which cost eight billion rupees to build, is expected to have its grand opening on July 26th.

Hilton is an American international hotel chain. However, the Hotel Hilton Kathmandu is managed by Hilton Worldwide Management Limited England. Hilton World has managed hotels and resorts in over 123 cities across the world.

The Corona pandemic has caused the well-equipped hotel, which has previously been ready for operation, to be delayed for three years, and the cost has gone up as well.  According to the proprietors, the initial cost of this hotel was projected at 6 billion 68 million, but it has already risen to 8 billion.

Ninety percent of the shares in Hotel Hilton, the Shankar Group's principal investment, are owned by Sahil Agarwal.

The 172 rooms of the Hilton Kathmandu are spread across 10 ropanis.  The hotel has one 'presidential suite', two luxury suites, and ten other suite rooms.The overall 'buildup area' of this hotel is approximately 20,000 square meters. The hotel near the Naxal Bhagwati temple has 17 floors, including two basement floors for underground parking. According to the hotel, it will have approximately 300 staff.

Hilton Kathmandu will have the same standards and facilities as a five-star hotel. It will feature a health club, spa, an environmentally friendly swimming pool and fitness center, as well as local and international cuisine.  The hotel will feature a rooftop swimming pool.

The hotel currently features four restaurants, and a meeting center with a capacity of 200 persons has been planned. The second phase will also include infrastructure improvements, such as a new banquet hall with a capacity of 400 people. There will also be a nightclub at the Hilton. 

 In the second phase, Shankar Group plans to construct a fully equipped casino.

On booking.com, the pricing for one night in the hotel starts at 28 thousand rupees. The suite costs between $500 and $2,000 US dollars.
