Nabil Bank celebrates 40 years of success

KATHMANDU:Nabil Bank, the country's leading financial institution, celebrated its 40th anniversary. Bank President Upendra Poudyal, Ms. Hanaa Singer-Hamdy, UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal, ICIMOD Managing Director Dr. Pema Gyamtso, WWF Nepal representative Dr. Ghanshyam Gurung, Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, Eliza Sthapit, National Director of Habitat Nepal, and others attended the Kathmandu event.

Chairman Poudyal stated that the bank has recently prioritized sustainable development and that the program and service flow have been adjusted properly. He mentioned that the bank's sustainable banking plan, which is built on long-term thinking, will assist to cut carbon emissions, invest in green technologies, and support social and economic growth.

On this occasion, Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, the bank's CEO, thanked all customers, staff, regulators, government agencies, shareholders, and other stakeholders for their support and collaboration.

He also stated that in honor of the bank's 40th anniversary, numerous initiatives will be held over the following 40 days to enhance public awareness of sustainable development. He stated that for the next 40 days, events such as cycling, Prabhatferi, and a photo exhibition portraying the journey of 'four decades of Nepal' had been planned.

The bank, which has stressed the use of technology from its foundation, has recently begun providing customers with simple and convenient services via Digi Bank.

The bank, which is moving forward alongside customers and partners under the slogan'Moving forward with Nabil Bank', has recently highlighted sustainable banking. The bank, which is leveraging cutting-edge technology to provide streamlined banking services, launched computerized banking for the first time in Nepal.

Nabil launched the first ATM in 1994, mobile banking in 2012, and smart chip service in International Master Card and Debit Card in 2014. In 2016, Nepal saw the introduction of its first contactless payment card. The bank last introduced 'N Bank' in 2022, offering over 60 banking services via mobile for the first time in Nepal.

The bank offers services through 22 extension counters and 316 ATM machines, as well as a network of 268 branches across the country. Nabil Bank has over 2.2 million consumers who use its direct banking services.
