Women in Concert has announced the TVS NTORQ winners
KATHMANDU:Women in Concert has announced the winners of TVS NTORQ Nirbhaya’s Women in Concert Talent Hunt 2024.
Nirbhaya’s Women in Concert is a highly anticipated event that celebrates and empowers female musical talent in Nepal.
Prajina Gurung has won the competition, receiving a TVS Ntorq 125 scooter, a year-long contract with Nirbhaya's Women in Concert, a two-song deal, a music video, and a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees.
The first runner-up position was secured by Rhythm Rai, followed by Sujita Dangol as the second runner-up. Each of these talented women has showcased exceptional skill and passion, making their mark in the Nepali music scene.
TVS Ntorq125, as the title sponsor and main investor of Women in Concert 2024, is committed to supporting platforms that promote and nurture emerging female artists. Their partnership with Women in Concert, alongside Water Aid and Aambo Momo, underscores their dedication to creating safe spaces and equitable opportunities for women in music.
Women in Concert, founded by Abhaya Subba, the esteemed singer/songwriter and vocalist of the rock band Abhaya and the Steam Engines, has been a beacon of support for female musicians since its inception in 2003. This year’s event, held at Kathmandu World School, witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of over 1,000 attendees, all coming together to celebrate the spirit of female empowerment through music.
The Talent Hunt, now in its second iteration since 2016, provides emerging artists with a comprehensive three-month bootcamp training, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the music industry.
