Global IME Bank conducts financial literacy program through 233 branches
KATHMANDU:Global IME Bank conducted a financial literacy program through its 233 branch offices.
As part of the bank's corporate social responsibility, a financial literacy program was organized by identifying various target groups who lack financial access.
More than 35,000 farmers, micro, small, and medium-sized business owners, laborers, prospective foreign workers, students, women, remittance beneficiaries, and local youth took part in the bank's initiatives across all seven provinces.
The targeted groups' participation numbers were 3,500 in Koshi Province, 2,200 in Madhesh Province, 15,000 in Bagmati Province, 5,500 in Gandaki Province, 6,000 in Lumbini Province, 500 in Karnali Province, and more than 2,500 in Sudurpaschim Province.
Global IME Bank is promoting financial literacy and digital banking through its branches in 77 districts during the current fiscal year 2080/81.
The program educates participants on savings, credit, remittance, digital banking, insurance, investment, extra banking services, financial fraud, and financial discipline.
More than 4.6 million customers receive great service from the bank's 1,100 service centers, which include 354 branch offices, 384 ATMs, 277 branchless banking services, 68 extension and revenue collection counters, and three overseas representative offices.
