China to celebrate 'Visit Nepal-2025' to promote Nepal's tourism
KATHMANDU, June 26:China will celebrate 'Visit Nepal-2025' next year, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China.
Sun Weidong, China's Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, provided this information during a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachand' at Singh Durbar on Monday.d
Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Weidong stated that the event was planned to promote Nepal's tourism and encourage Chinese tourists to visit Nepal. He also pledged that China would continue to promote Nepal's economic and social development.
On that occasion, Prime Minister Dahal expressed his satisfaction with China's assistance to Nepal's economic and social growth. He stated that Nepal intends to be upgraded from a least developed country to a developing country by 2026, and that China's assistance is required to make this happen, according to Dr. Rupak Sapkota, the Prime Minister's foreign affairs adviser.
Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Weidong visited Nepal on Monday to participate in the 16th meeting of the Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism. Dr. Sapkota, Prime Minister's Advisor on Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials represented Nepal at the meeting, while Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song and other high officials represented China.
