Shree Airlines conducts test flight at Bharatpur Airport

KATHMANDU, June 22:Shree Airlines' Dash 8-Q400 aircraft completed a successful test flight at Bharatpur Airport.

According to Shree Airlines, a test flight for regular flights has been done to improve tourist access to Chitwan National Park and to alleviate passenger traffic congestion in the middle of the East-West Highway and business regions.

The company also stated that it has been requested to run flight services by tourism merchants from various locations in order to increase air service at Bharatpur Airport.

"The first test flight of the company's state-of-the-art Dash 8-Q400 aircraft made in Canada was completed on Thursday at Bharatpur Airport," according to the company. 

Shree Airlines began regular flight operations to various destinations in 2017 with two CRJ 200 jets planes with 50 seats and two CRJ 700 jets planes with 70 seats.

The company stated that it has achieved the status of the greatest domestic aviation service provider in a short period of time.

"After the launch of Shree Airlines, passengers have been able to travel at concessional fares" , according to the company, "from Kathmandu Airport to Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalganj, Dhangadhi, Pokhara, Surkhet etc and mountain flights by CRJ 200 / 700 and Dash 8-Q400 aircrafts." The air service is routinely operated.

The company stated that regular flights will resume after gaining approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) following the test flight.
