Aviation climate service essential for flights safety: Minister Basnet

KATHMANDU, June 14: Minster for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet has argued that the aviation climate was essential for safety of air flights.  

Addressing a seminar on the importance of Aviation Climate for Safety of Air Flights here today, Minister Basnet said aviation climate should be promoted for safe air services.  He added that the service should be expanded with the coordination of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), as Nepal has adverse and diverse climates. 

Minister further said that his ministry was ready to extend the service and cooperate for the effective planning as well. 

Similarly, Director General of Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Dr Jagdishwar Karmacharya said that the service would be effective not only for safety of air services but also to forecast rains.

On the occasion, most of the speakers underlined the importance of effective implementation of the policy and services to this regard.
