Laxmi Sunrise Bank celebrates World Environment Day 2024

KATHMANDU:Laxmi Sunrise Bank celebrated World Environment Day 2024 with the 'Project 5K' project. Through this campaign, the bank selected this year's World Environment Day slogan, "Our Land, Our Future: We are #GenerationRestoration," and planned to plant 5000 plants throughout the country.

During the week of June 1-8, the bank planted over 6,000 trees in partnership with local communities and organizations through its many branches. This nationwide tree planting took place in schools, community forests, conservation areas, hospitals, Armed Police Force Nepali Army barracks, temples, and public spaces.

On the same day that Project 5K was launched, Laxmi Sunrise Bank released its Avoided Emission Report. This paper presents a detailed assessment of the environmental impact of renewable energy investments (especially hydropower). Through its investments in this area, the Bank has saved a total of 25,134.18 million tonnes of carbon emissions.

This report is also a continuation of the Bank's Carbon Accounting Financial (PAF) report. Laxmi Sunrise Bank has participated in the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) since 2021.

Similarly, Laxmi Sunrise Bank has adopted the slogan "Orange Loves Green." to reflect its #Green and #Responsible ideals while promoting a variety of eco-friendly projects. Project 5K, one of the bank's several environmental projects, will help the bank achieve its aim of building a sustainable environment, the bank stated.
