Promotional campaign in Chengdu to attract Chinese tourists to Nepal
KATHMANDU, June 08:To attract Chinese tourists, a promotional program has been organized in Chengdu, China's capital of Sichuan Province.
During a Thursday event between Chinese tourism businessman and Nepalese hoteliers, Consul General Suresh Raut urged the former to encourage their friends to visit Nepal and pledged to offer the Consulate General's full support.
According to the Consulate General, Binayak Shah, President of the Hotel Association Nepal, stated that Nepalese hoteliers are eager to provide excellent service to Chinese tourists and encouraged Chinese citizens to visit Nepal.
More than 200 people participated in the event, which was organized by the Nepal Tourism Board, the Hotel Association Nepal, the Consulate General of Sichuan Province, the Sichuan Provincial Government, the Chengdu Municipality, the Sichuan Travel Agency Association, the Hotel Association of China, and representatives from Nepalese society and media in Chengdu. Various cultural programs were also held on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Consulate General informed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Hotel Association Nepal and the Sichuan Travel Agency Association. Both groups have also exchanged a memorandum of agreement about cooperation.
