Employees of tourism development project arrested for bribe

KATHMANDU, June 02:The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has arrested Rajan Kumar Bhattarai and Sanjay Aryal, sub-engineers at the Tourism Development Project Unit Office in Kathmandu, on bribery charges.

The commission team arrested them from the office after learning that they were asking bribes from service users in order to pay the final bill after the work was completed.

The commission team apprehended them after receiving a bribe of Rs 17,000 from a development project in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-31. Devi Prasad Thapaliya, Assistant Spokesperson for the Commission, stated that additional investigation into the accused is continuing.
