Reconstruction heritage should be done in old style:Mayor Shah
KATHMANDU, May 27:Balendra Shah, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has stated that the heritage site should be built in the traditional style. On Thursday, Chief Shah spoke at the launching of Ratnakar Mahabihar rebuilding in Thaymaru, Kathmandu.
Mayor Shah underlined the need of preserving the ancient style when renovating Kathmandu Valley's heritage sites. He claimed that reconstructing heritage sites in the previous way will increase rather than decrease revenue. He predicted that as civilization grows, so would business and lifestyle. He stated that the Metropolitan City is always willing to assist with the reconstruction of Metropolitan City assets.
It seems that what happens to the ward presidents when Mahabihar is made, all the budgets will not come until they are asked for at once. I always say to ask for everything at once. It would have been if the lion and Sattal were created simultaneously. The Satal should likewise be made in the old way. By returning to our past and culture, some of our businesses will not only survive, but also thrive. As our civilization evolves, so does trade. Lifestyle also improves. Everyone's respect grows. "The Metropolitan City is ready to assist," Mayor Shah stated.
Mayor Shah also requested that the ward presidents immediately request the necessary funding for the heritage's rehabilitation. He asked the Metropolitan City to request the money immediately and complete all of the reconstruction work at once, without fear of not being able to obtain the entire budget for heritage reconstruction.
