Nepal Telecom earned a net profit of Rs 5.59 billion in the third quarter

KATHMANDU:Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) achieved a net profit of Rs. 5.59 billion rupees during the third-quarter (nine months) of the  FY 2080/81.

The company's net profit has climbed by 3.35 percent during the preceding third-quarter. Telecom achieved a profit of Rs 5.41  billion over the last nine monthsFY 2079/2080.

The company's operating and financial income have declined. Income declined by 6.82%.  Last year, the company made Rs 27.34 billion  in operating income, while this year it earned Rs 25.48 billion.

The company's financial income decreased from Rs 5.70 billion to Rs 5.18 billion. The change in bank interest rates reduced financial income by Rs 507.4 million.

According to NTC, the interconnection income has reduced by 944.9 million as OTT services have grown in popularity.

According to the NTC, income has declined as a result of ongoing service growth and quality improvement, especially in hilly and remote areas with high expenses and low returns. According to the company, the lower service charges have also had an impact.

Income from other sources has risen by 229.07%. In the last nine months, the company has made 530 million rupees, following another income of 161.1 million rupees.

The paid-up capital of the company is Rs 18 billion and the reserve fund is Rs 74.33 billion rupees. Similarly, earnings per share are Rs 41.44, while net value per share is Rs 512.99, and a P/E ratio of 20.13 times.
