CNI urged that the EU support direct flights from Nepal to Europe
KATHMANDU, May 18:The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has held discussed with the European Union (EU) on increasing bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
On Thursday, CNI met with EU Deputy Director General Myriam Ferran, the EU Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Veronique Lorenzo, and others.
CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agarwal discussed the areas of future support that the EU can provide for Nepal's economic development. He requested aid in operating direct flights from Nepal to European countries. There are no direct flights from Europe to Nepal because the country has been on the EU's security list for 11 years.
Agarwal has requested to be removed from the security list in order to contribute to Nepal's tourism business, acording to CNI's press release.
Lorenzo, the EU Ambassador to Nepal, stated that the EU is committed to Nepal's economic progress.
