NAC urged for tax exemption
KATHMANDU, May 18:Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has urged special facilities similar to those provided to other national flag carriers.
Executive Chairman Yuvaraj Adhikari presented this demand to the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Hit Bahadur Tamang, who attended the NAC's annual budget meeting for fiscal year 2081/82.
During the meeting, the Adhikari described the NAC's achievements and plans.
He urged that the NAC take the initiative to give customs exemption facilities for spare parts needed in the repair of the NAC's plane and airport equipment, as well as food items used on the NAC's flights, and take the effort to exempt the tax imposed on aviation fuel. As a national flag bearer, the Nepalese government required specific facilities for the NAC, similar to those offered to other countries' national flag bearers.
Similarly, to improve the services provided to pilots and other employees, to make necessary amendments to the existing Public Procurement Act and Regulations by retaining a separate provision for the unique nature of air business, such as a NAC, and to strengthen and strengthen the national flag carrier through the provisions of the NAC Act, 2019. The official further requested that the government assist him in acting as a coordinator.
Minister Tamang stated the NAC's current Annual Report and Review for 2080/81, as well as the approaching annual planning and budget projection meeting for 2081/82. The meeting was attended by the NAC's executive chairman, as well as the deputy general manager, all department heads, the heads of all ten foreign stations, the heads of key divisions and branches, and the presidents of all four trade unions functioning within the NAC.
Tankanidhi Dahal, director of the NAC's market management department, presented a presentation on the current market scenario and the NAC's marketing strategy at the time.
