Home Minister Lamichhane on TIA monitoring

KATHMANDU, May 17:Ravi Lamichhane, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, emphasized the importance of making Tribhuvan International Airport as technologically advanced as possible. While watching the airport, he stated that the government will prioritize making it the most technology-friendly.

Minister Lamichhane was interested in passenger complaints, security concerns, work to make immigration more technologically friendly, and immigration staff duty rosters. He also indicated an interest in reducing the extra traffic in the airport area caused by people saying goodbye to family members.

Minister Lamichhane also directed that the arrival and departure halls be aesthetically pleasing.  According to his secretariat, he monitored the departure and arrival rooms, boarding and immigration counters, stepped areas, immigration and police offices, customs checkpoints, baggage management and other areas.
