Ethnic Food Festival will be held in Banepa
BANEPA, May 15:The Ethnic Food Festival will be held at Banepa, Kavre district. The Mai Chandeswari Jatra celebration will take place on Jestha 10, 11, and 12.
The festival will be organized jointly by the Kavre Hotel and Restaurant Entrepreneurs Association and the Kavre Party Palace and Catering Association. The organizers announced this during a press conference on Tuesday.
Shyam Kumar (Bhalu) Shrestha, the event's coordinator and head of the Kavre Hotel and Restaurant Entrepreneurs Association, stated that the festival will be held to foster cultural harmony and unity while also introducing and promoting Ethnicfood. Bhalu informed me that the festival was created to promote Raithane cuisine rather than for profit.
He states that approximately 15 stalls will serve a variety of Newari Ethnic food. The festival is expected to attract thousands of spectators.
Shiva Timalsina, president of the Kavre Party Palace and Catering Association, stated that the festival will showcase cuisine that reflect Banepa's identity.
According to Krishna Shrestha, Central Treasurer of the Hotel and Restaurant Entrepreneurs Association, the festival will require a budget of approximately four lakh. He stated that there is a proposal to cover the costs by collecting a fee of 10,000 per stall. It is predicted that there would be 25 to 40 stalls during the three days festival.
