Concerned authorities demanded two-way flight between Malaysia-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu

BHAIRAHAWA, May 10:Concerned authorities have asked a two-way flight from Malaysia-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu. For the past year, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has operated weekly one-way flights between Malaysia-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu. It has been requested that it be done twice, even if only on a weekly basis. Although they had been flying one-way, they have now sought a two-way operation and a double flight.

Istiyaq Ahmed Khan, Mayor of Siddharthnagar Municipality, stated that the lack of flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport has led to a depression in the area. He stated, "Malaysia-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu flight, which is being operated weekly by the government-owned NAC, should be made two-way."For the past year, the NAC has operated a one-way flight. On average, 40 people travel to Bhairahawa from this flight.

Mayor Khan stated that the airport should be made operational by allowing the NAC to fly once a week. Mayor Khan stated that, on behalf of Siddharth Municipal Corporation, Siddhartha Municipal Corporation has taken institutional steps to make the airport operational by submitting demands and requests to various government and concerned agencies to make Gautam Budh Airport operational and for regular flights.

Billions have been invested in this area's tourism sector, and keeping the airport running is critical to protecting that investment. He believes that the current two-way flights in this area will attract other airlines and service companies.

Thakur Kumar Shrestha, president of the Siddhartha Industry and Commerce Association, stated that the one-way flight, which began in May of last year, should be modified to two-way to speed up the airspace of Bhairahawa and make the tourism sector sustainable. He stated, "We have been taking measures since last year, and one-way flights have taken place. "Now we demand that it be two-way," added Chairman Shrestha.

Chandra Prakash Shrestha, President of the Siddharth Hotel Association, stated that the tourism sector is likewise disappointed because the airport seems to be at a halt, and that international flights must resume to make the airport  operational. He underlined that the flight should be two-way. He stated that, in light of the airport, billions in new investments in the hotel sector have been made in the area, and all of those investments are at risk, thus the airport must be functioning to protect the investments.

Tourism-related organizations have demanded an agreement with India for new routes, the immediate use of ILS equipment, a health check for persons traveling abroad for labor employment at Bhairahawa or Butwal. Similarly, the establishment of other countries' visa centers, arrangements for ground handling for at least 5 years,  as more Buddhist countries visit Lumbini, including China, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar, diplomatic initiatives should be taken from those countries.
