Global IME Bank organises nationwide financial literacy program

KATHMANDU:Global IME Bank conducted a financial literacy program through its 169 branch offices of the bank.

As part of the bank's corporate social responsibility, a financial literacy program was  organized by identifying various specific groups who do not have access to financial services.

More than 20,000 farmers, micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs, laborers, prospective foreign workers, students, women, remittance beneficiaries, and local youth took part in the bank's activities across all seven provinces.

The bank's initiative drew about 2,500 participants from Koshi province, 2,000 from Madhesh province, 5,000 from Bagmati province, 4,500 from Gandaki province, 3,500 from Lumbini province, 5,000 from Karnali province, and 2,500 from Sudurpaschim province.

The bank plans to conduct financial literacy and digital banking through its 354 branches in 77 regions of the country during the current fiscal year 2080/81.

The program covers themes such as savings, credit, remittances, digital banking, insurance, investment, extra banking services, financial fraud, and financial discipline.

The bank operates over 1,100 service centers, which include 354 branch offices, 379 ATMs, 277 branchless banking services, 68 extension and revenue collection counters, and three international representative offices.
