Mountain Energy wins case against NEA

KATHMANDU:Mountain Energy Nepal has won its case against the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The NEA filed a petition in the Patan High Court on December 6th, last year, seeking to overturn the arbitrator's judgment in favor of Mountain Energy.

On Sunday, the High Court's joint bench of Justices Lekhnath Poudel and Krishnaram Koirala rejected the petition, ruling that the NEA's claim was insufficient. After winning the case, the company stated it will be able to receive 264.1 million from the NEA from the time the project's COD was presented to the arbitration council, as well as the amount deducted to date and the amount of interest on it.
