Barahi Jungle Lodge cleaned the Chitwan National Park area
KATHMANDU, May 08:Barahi Jungle Lodge in Chitwan, owned by Barahi Hospitality, concluded a cleaning program in the Chitwan National Park area.
According to the lodge , about three tractor of garbage, including plastic and glass bottles, had been collected.
Tej Thanet, the lodge's food and beverage manager, stated that the garbage was collected from the area around the river to Golaghat, three kilometers down. He emphasized that all stakeholders should be active in maintaining the cleanliness of the national park.
He underlined that local governments should play a part in maintaining it clean.
Thanet stated that the lodge has performed this type of cleaning every year. The lodge is also committed to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
Because of its emphasis on environmental protection, the lodge has been designated as an eco-certified lodge by 'Toft Tiger'.
Since 2015, the lodge has been continuously accredited in the Outstanding Practice category.
Barahi Jungle Lodge was recently accredited as a lodge with international level Environmental Management Systems (EMS) by 'ISO-14001'.
The lodge on the banks of the Rapti River in Chitwan Meghauli is built on a jungle theme.
Spread over 12 hectares of land in this lodge premises, one can enjoy not only the aquatic in the Rapti River but also the sighting of the deer, tiger, bear, crocodile and other species of birds in the Chitwan National Park.
This lodge, which opened in 2013, is also environmentally friendly.
