21st Rot Festival in Gorkha begins on May 23

KATHMANDU, May 08:The 21st Rot Festival will be hosted at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorkha.

To attract religious tourists to the district, the 21st Rots Mahotsav (festival) will begin on May 23rd at the temple of Guru Gorakhnath, a well-known holy site.

Over 125 thousand Rots will be offered to the Gorakhnath Temple during the occasion, which is celebrated in a magnificent manner.

According to Kishore Kumar Akela, coordinator of Siddhashram Shakti Kendra (SSK) Gorkha, 1.25 lakh rots would be offered to Gorakhnath during the festival, as well as a Bhajankirtan performance and religious talks.

According to legend, the Guru Gorakhnath's favorite cuisine is a Rot made from rice flour dough and baked with 52 different ingredients such as coconut, clove, cardamom, and sugar using ritualistic rituals.

Every day in the Gorakhnath temple, rot are offered to Gorakhnath. Coordinator Akela stated that the 1.25 lakh rots event is being held to promote religious tourism and to wish for world peace.

Gorakh Prakat Day commemorates the divine and historical Gorakh's appearance from the cave on the full moon day of Baisakh. Rot Mahotsav was started on that day.

Coordinator Akela stated that the organizers will provide accommodations and meals for devotees attending the eleven-day festival. He continued, "This time, more than 40,000 tourists are expected to come to the Gorkha festival."

During the Rot Festival, devotees come from all over India to receive Gorakhnath's prasad. The festival will end on June 2.
