IME Group to collaborate with Indonesia's PT PLN Nusantara for power project development
KATHMANDU:The IME Group and Indonesia's PT PLN Nusantara Company will work together to construct energy projects in Nepal.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the group's chairman, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, and the director of PT PLN Nusantara, Muhammad Reza, at a program held on Tuesday at IME Group.
The Indonesian government owns PT PLN Nusantara, an energy development business. According to this agreement, PT PLN will do additional research and analysis on the development of renewable energy projects in Nepal using its experience.
PT PLN has gained experience in the operation and maintenance of power plants in both the domestic and international energy markets. It has already expanded its services into Singapore, Malaysia, Kuwait, China, and Saudi Arabia.
Dhakal, Chairman of the IME Group, expressed his hope that the new cooperation will help to expand Nepal's energy production.
Chairman Dhakal further stated that he is convinced that this agreement will allow Indonesia to leverage its skills and experience to help manage rising energy demand and support the region's long-term development.
IME Group is increasing its investments in hydropower, banking, insurance, tourism infrastructure, and information technology.
