21 thousand tourists entered Manang in a single year
POKHARA, April 25:The number of tourists visiting the Himalayan district of Manang is rising. The number of foreign tourists visiting the world's 10th most dangerous trekking routes and Manaslu trekking routes is increasing. According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), 21,495 tourists entered in 2080.
That amount of international tourists arrived between Baisakh and mid-March. According to the figures, French citizens have arrived the most.
Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, the leader of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), confirmed that French citizens prefer Manang. According to him, the records show that 2,482 persons from France visited Manang in one year.
Similarly, he stated that 1,821 Israelis and 1,754 Germans had visited Manang. Chief Bhujel stated that foreigners favor Manang.
He stated, "Though there are tourists from other nations, the number of tourists from these countries is large, and the number of tourists from America, China, Russia, and India is also expanding. Manang is abundant in natural resources." He claims that it is the choice of tourists.
According to Chief Bhujel, only 115 international tourists entered on the first day of the New Year in 2081. According to him, there was a large influx of domestic tourists on New Year's Day. He added that the road network has made it easier for domestic tourists to travel to Manang.
Bhupendra Gurung, a nature tourism expert with the ACAP, said that domestic tourists are also visiting over the vacations. He went on to say, "Manang is full of domestic tourists when there are three or four consecutive days of holidays, and the technique of going on tours is also increasing among Nepalis."
According to him, there is no record of domestic tourists, but their arrival is considerable. The majority of tourists that come here travel to Mustang via Thorangla Pass, while others go to Manaslu via Larke Pass.
According to Cholpa Gurung, Ward President of Manang Ngisyang Rural Municipality-9, Tilicho Lake is popular among domestic tourists. He claims that domestic tourists make Tilicho Lake their primary destination when they have a few days off.
You can go on Manang's trekking routes twice. After the COVID epidemic and the flood of 2078, tourist traffic has increased here.
Tourists visit to witness the mountains, mountain views, customs, culture, and natural beauty of the Manang people. Furthermore, tourists can reach Pokhara via the Annapurna path from Manang, which crosses Thorangla Pass and passes through Mustang.
The journey starts from Manange Chautara, Besishahar Municipality-7 in Lamjung, the entrance of the Annapurna trail.The Annapurna Trail connects five districts: Lamjung, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, and Kaski. Tourists go by vehicle from Kathmandu to Benisahar.
People are now able to visit Chame and Khangsar by vehicle, thanks to improved road conditions. Only after that, it is found that they travel by walking to the main destination.
