Sightseeing Tour of 33 Ponds in Bhaktapur
BHAKTAPUR, April 09:There will be a walking tour of Bhaktapur's 33 ponds. Bhaktapur Tours plans to organize a 33-pond circumambulation walk to safeguard Kathmandu Valley's ponds and promote sluggish tourism.
The walking program has been scheduled for New Year's Day (1st Baisakh). The padayatra is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. in Bhaktapur's Maheshwari temple. 33 small and big ponds of Bhaktapur can be observed during this walk. According to organizer Bhaktapur Tours, an average person can complete the trek in 3 hours and 33 minutes.
According to the organizer, the current level of air pollution has had a significant impact on the environment, and the walk aims to urge people to favor walking wherever possible. The organizer, Bhaktapur Tours, has said that they conduct regular walks to reduce the pollution caused by vehicles. It is said that another purpose of the walk is to emphasize heritage conservation and tourism promotion of Bhaktapur.
This walk is expected to be attended by representatives from prominent banks, cooperatives, schools, colleges, government employees, and diplomatic missions. According to the organizers, Samay Baji has been prepared with local foods to delight the trekkers. Keeping health and safety in mind, participants must register by April 12th; organizers stated that early registration is required to participate in the walk.
A fee of 1,000 will be paid to participate in the walk, which will also include a calendar fair.
