DJ Tenzing will climb Mount Everest to raise awareness of climate change
KATHMANDU, April 01:DJ Tenzing Sherpa aims to ascend Mount Everest during the upcoming Baisakh with the slogan 'Stop Global Warming, Save the Himalayas'.
"The campaign aims to promote tourism and raise awareness about the effects of climate change rather than individual achievements," Tenzing remarked.
Hit Bahadur Tamang, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, complimented Tenzing for his efforts to enhance public awareness through the campaign.
Minister Tamang stated that the government backed Tenzing's efforts by giving him the Nepalese national flag. "I am happy that the government has promised to provide the necessary support during my campaign," Tenzing went on to say.
Tenzing, a Solukhumbu resident, has been organizing musical programs in the Solukhumbu region for the past 12 years, particularly on International Everest Day, which commemorates the historic Mount Everest climb.
