We are making maximum efforts for direct flights from China to Pokhara and Bhairahawa." : Chinese ambassador
KATHMANDU, April 01:The Chinese Ambassador has stated that efforts are being made to establish direct flights from China to Pokhara and Gautam Buddha International Airport.
According to the minister's secretariat, China's Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, stated in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane on Wednesday that they are working hard to establish direct flights to both airports.
Minister Lamichhane told the ambassador who had come to the ministry to congratulate him that he anticipates direct flights from certain Chinese cities to Gautam Buddha and Pokhara airports.
Even though Pokhara International Airport has been open for 15 months, there has been no regular commercial flight, and Nepal Air Service Corporation only operates one flight per week at Gautam Buddha Airport.The airport has been in operation for two years.
Chinese Ambassador Song has committed to help enhance the immigration office and the Tribhuvan Airport. According to the minister's secretariat, he emphasized the importance of increased ministerial-level coordination and collaboration in border control.
Ambassador Song invited Minister Lamichhane to visit China on behalf of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Chiahang.
