Citizens Bank's Financial Literacy Program in all provinces

KATHMANDU:Citizens Bank International Limited held a financial literacy event at 25 branch offices throughout all seven provinces to commemorate Global Money Week 2024.

Literacy programs have been planned by the bank in Biratnagar, Birtamod, Haldibari, and Mahendra Chowk in Koshi Province; Bidyapatichowk, Birganj, Krishnapranami, and Rajviraj in Madhesh Province; Thapathali, Thali, Bharatpur, Hetauda, and Sinamangal in Bagmati Province; and Amrapuri and Damauli in Gandaki Province.

Similarly, financial literacy programs have been held in Bhutaha and Baghaiyatal in Lumbini Province, as well as Surkhet, Jumla, Dolpa, and Simikot in Karnali Province, and Mahendranagar, Dhangadhi, Bajhang, and Attaria in Sudurpaschim Province.

The youth  and students attending the event were informed about the need and relevance of financial literacy. In addition, the level of financial literacy was discussed, as well as the increased criminality and risk associated with the rise of electronic banking.

The program has also encouraged the use of the banking system for financial transactions such as cash transfers, transactions, and remittances. The bank believes that this will enhance the banking system and increase financial literacy among youth and students. 

Citizens Bank provides services through 190 branches, 153 ATMs, and 98 branchless banking locations.
