Make policy reforms in tourism: Tourism Minister  Tamang

KATHMANDU, March 22:Hit Bahadur Tamang, Minister of Culture, tourist, and Civil Aviation, has stated that tourism policies will be reformed.

Speaking at a reception hosted by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Thursday, he stated that the ministry is prepared for policy changes.

Minister Tamang asked the board to actively promote tourism. He stated that the ministry will focus on short-term, medium-term, and long-term tourist development initiatives, as well as collaborate with all stakeholders on creative projects.

Certain policy issues will be gradually improved. From the nomination of empty board members to the selection of the cheif executive officer, all activity is underway. "All of these works will be completed soon," he stated.

Dr. Deepak Kafl, secretary of the ministry and chairman of the NTB, stated that the board has a strong history and that it should get more involved in tourism promotion.

Officer Sudan Subedi, speaking on behalf of the NTB's staff union, stated that the board's program would be more effective if board members and CEO were appointed quickly.

Minister Tamang was welcomed by Dr. Deepak Kafle, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Chairman of the Board, and Hikmat Singh  Ayer, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the NTB.
