Thamel and Durbarmarg prepared to open 24 hours

KATHMANDU, March 21:Thamel and Durbarmarg have been prepared to remain open 24 hours a day.

Ravi Lamichhane, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, has directed Thamel and Durbarmarg to open for 24 hours, and the Kathmandu district government has planned accordingly. The District Security Committee has also begun developing a security plan to ensure that Thamel and Durbarmarg remain open 24 hours a day.

Internal preparations have already begun. It will open during the new year (Baishakh 1), according to Jitendra Basnet, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu. "Security is fully guaranteed." Following the market's opening, we will develop additional strategies and put them into action based on challenges and replies.

Based on the success of Thamel and Durbarmarg, the Ministry of Home Affairs intends to gradually open more tourist attractions 24 hours a day. As a result, the Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister has stated that cooperation is being carried out with the local authority.

According to the local administration, the time has been set for conducting business in four groups based on the characteristics of both areas.
